Overview
Welcome to this Sprint on Financial Modeling.
The purpose of this course is to give you an introduction on financial modeling, how to build the budget projections, and how to present it to investors.
An essential part before starting any financial projection exercise is to actually have the business model in place and to know the internal KPIs. This workshop will briefly go over how to set up your dashboards using a framework that you can use not only for financial modeling, but for running the business in general. Then we’re going to go dive deep into the projections.
Finally, we will conclude with a real-life example of a financial model and best practices/common mistakes
Completing this sprint will help you:
- Understand when, to whom, why and how to approach building a financial model
- Establish your company’s KPIs dashboard for your financial model
- Learn the overall structure and the different modules in a financial model
- Identify the most common mistakes and best practices when starting to build a financial model
- See it in practice with a real-life financial model example for an ecommerce mobile app
- Develop your financial model
Who is the sprint for?
This Sprint is perfect for Founders or CEOs who need to learn the skills to manage your finances (possibly with the requirements to share with investors) and wanting to understand best practice when building a financial model and projections.
Learning Path
Our first Step is to make sure you understand if you are building the best financial model for your business and who you are building it for.
Learn about the OMTM so you can create your own dashboard and identify the assumptions driving your model
Step by step address each element of your financial model so you have a robust approach for sharing internally and externally
Make sure you takeaway the key best practices when building and updating your financial model plus the common mistakes to avoid.
Using a real life example we will now work through each element in practice so you can apply your new skills
You will have learnt a great deal and have clear outputs from the Sprint. The final step is to connect with your KIB Specialist for your workshop with them to answer any questions you have and complete the course
